Disney Pixar's official synopsis for Elemental states: "In a city where residents of the elements of fire, water, land, and air coexist, a fiery young woman and a laid-back guy are about to discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common." The story, according to rumors, is partially based on filmmaker Peter Sohn's personal experiences growing up as an immigrant family's kid in the diverse metropolis of New York. One may anticipate being taken on a rollercoaster of emotions featuring a ton of heart, humor, and, most likely, tears given Pixar's impeccable reputation and outstanding ability to provoke the strongest of feelings from even the most indifferent of audiences. Following the popularity of the 2016 original animated film and its 2020 sequel Trolls World Tour, they'll be returning to the big screen this year in Trolls Band Together, which is likely to be a riot of color and melody. Although there isn't much information available about the project, it will probably adhere to the same successful model as the others in that it will be a jukebox musical with a variety of old favorites and perhaps a few new songs as the group "bands" together to conquer obstacles.

It follows young Ashna (voiced by Ariana DeBose) as she uses a tiny bit of traditional magic to assist her beat the most dangerous of opponents in order to preserve her people in the kingdom of Rosas. The film is reportedly packed with Easter eggs that refer to earlier Disney masterpieces and is already one of Disney's most intriguing animation projects in a very long time. In addition, the art form is defined as a combination of conventional 2D and contemporary CGI.

The company made famous by Gru and his band of Yellow Minions, Illumination, will release its 16th theatrical release with Migration. Currently, not much is known about the film other than the fact that it is an adventure comedy centered on a family of ducks trying to persuade their overprotective father to on a trip of a lifetime. Fans of animated films should keep an eye on this one because it has a solid track record and lucrative series like Despicable Me and Minions, The Secret Life of Pets, and Sing under its belt.

#8. Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (Release Date TBD)

Fans of Aardman's distinct style of quirky and occasionally irreverent humor will be itching to see this highly awaited sequel, which comes more than 20 years after the publication of the original Chicken Run. Viewers will be able to follow up with Ginger and Rocky after their spectacular escape from the poultry farm in Dawn of the Nugget. The couple's life appears to be perfect until they discover a dangerous plan to kill hundreds of chickens in order to make them into chicken nuggets that can be eaten by anybody, forcing them to take action once more to preserve the hens. Expectations are high given that the first Chicken Run has a fairly impressive 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
